Highly self-motivated maternal-fetal medicine specialist interested in continuing medical education.

She hold the degree of joint Doctorate in Fetal and Perinatal Medicine (Fetalmed-PhD program) from three European Universities (University of Barcelona, Spain; Lund University, Sweden and KU Leuven University, Belgium). She obtained her medical degree and her master in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Damascus University (Syria) with the highest grades in her class (Top Graduate).

She gave many presentations in international congresses and has been awarded as one of the top 5 new investigators in the European meeting of the international society for the study of hypertension in pregnancy 2019. In addition, she has been chosen as the young ambassador of the international society of ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology world congress for 3 years in a row (2017, 2018 and 2019). She is involved regularly in reviewing manuscripts for several indexed journals, such as Ultrasound in obstetrics and Gynecology, Scientific Reports, Plos One, BMJ open, BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy and Archives in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

She joined Medicina Fetal Barcelona in 2019 as the scientific coordinator of the International Master in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

Antoni Borrell

Senior Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hospital Clinic Barcelona and Associated Professor at the University of Barcelona Medical School.

Trained in Fetal Medicine at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital of London under supervision of Prof. C.H. Rodeck (1989), he has been on sabbatical studies in the Karolinska Institute Hospital (2005-2006), at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliated hospital (2008-2009), and at Mount Sinai Hospital Toronto (2013).

Interested in the fields of Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Genetics and Prenatal Diagnosis, particularly early prenatal screening, ultrasound markers for fetal aneuploidy, early pregnancy loss, prenatal application of chromosomal microarray analysis and exome sequencing.

Past-Treasurer of the International Society for Prenatal Diagnosis (ISPD), past-Chairman of the Fetal Ultrasound ISPD special interest group, past-Deputy Chairman of the Educational Committee of the European Association for Perinatal Medicine (EAPM), and past-President of the Catalan Chapter of Fetal Medicine.

Currently is the Chairman of the Fetoscopy Working Group, Chairman of the Catalan Ultrasound Screening Committee and advisor of the Catalan Health Department, has authored more than 130 peer reviewed international scientific publications.

Elisenda Eixarch

Senior Specialist in Fetal Medicine, coordinator of the Fetal Neurosonography Unit and member of the Fetal Surgery team with more than 250 surgeries as assistant and 30 surgeries as first surgeon.

Associate professor at the University of Barcelona and director of 7 PhD thesis.

Senior researcher of the BCNatal Fetal Medicine Research Center research group with extensive experience in research in animal models and neuroimaging.

She has published more than 105 articles in peer-reviwed journals (h-factor of 33).

Olga Gómez

Since 2008, Olga Gómez is a member of the Fetal Pathology and Cardiology Units at BCNatal, a referral center in Maternal-FetalMedicine at the Hospitals Clinic and Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona, and of the Fetal Medicine Research Center (Fetal i+D), a multidisciplinary team with one of the largest scientific international productions.

She is currently the coordinator of the Fetal Cardiology unit, one of the largest reference units for the evaluation of cardiac malformations in Spain, with more than 100 major confirmed cardiac defects yearly.

With a broad background in fetal medicine and particularly in advance fetal ultrasound and echocardiography, in recent years her research has focused on the functional echocardiographic evaluation of congenital heart disease. In 2014, she spent a year as a research fellow in the Pediatric Cardiologist Division at Sickkids Hospital in Toronto Canada.

Olga Gómez is also an associate Professor of Obstetrics at the University of Barcelona. She has participated as a speaker in more than 70 courses and seminars on fetal pathology and echocardiography and has been involved in different clinical research projects.

As a result of her professional activity she has authored more than 65 papers published in indexed journals and she has directed two doctoral theses.

She is currently doing her research as responsible for the environment line and obstetric complications, their influence on fetal and postnatal development.

Head of the obstetric simulation unit Darwin, in the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, has conducted simulation courses at different levels.

He participates in international projects, directs doctoral theses and publishes scientific articles in journals with an impact factor. Participates as a speaker in national and international courses and congresses.

Josep M Martinez PhD, MD, is a Senior Consultant Physician of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Head of Fetal Medicine and Coordinator of Fetal Medicine and Therapy at BCNatal (Hospital Clínic and Hospital Sant Joan de Déu).

He has almost 20 years of experience and 2000 fetal surgery procedures.

Director of 4 doctoral theses, he has published more than 150 scientific articles in international journals with impact factor and is a regular scientific reviewer of the main international and national journals in his specialty.

He has been a speaker more than 400 times at courses, conferences and congresses. He is also Professor at the University of Barcelona.

Teresa Cobo

Dr. Teresa Cobo is a Medical Specialist of the Maternal-fetal Medicine Service, Prematurity Unit of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and a member of the fetal and perinatal medicine research group, IDIBAPS-Universitat de Barcelona.

Her experience has focused on the prediction and management of preterm labor and specifically on the prediction of intra-amniotic infection/inflammation.

Her work has resulted in a doctoral thesis (2009) and the publication of different articles in international journals with an impact factor.

She is specialized in fetal cardiology and fetal therapy with more than 15 years of experience.

She has published more than 40 scientific papers in international journals. She usually participates in national and international courses and congresses as a faculty member.
